Fourth meeting of the Italy-Eswatini Joint Committee

Katowice, December 12, 2018 – On the sidelines of CoP24, the fourth meeting of the Italy-Eswatini Joint Committee was held. Director General Francesco La Camera led the Italian delegation while Emmanuel Dlamini, Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, led the Swazi delegation.

During the meeting, the methods for implementing the projects approved during the previous meetings were defined. In particular, the general implementation of the projects has been entrusted to UNDP, (Climate Center and Sustainable Development in Africa).

The energy requalification project of the Manzini hospital "Fossil fuel free and green building of the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital" will have the technical assistance of Sogesid S.p.A, as well as scientific support from ENEA.

The project to upgrade the national weather forecast and warning system, "Strengthen Swaziland early warning system and climate services", will be implemented with the technical-scientific support of ENEA.
