Third meeting of the Joint Committee, the first projects approved

 

Bonn, November 14, 2017 - On the sidelines of the 23rd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, (UNFCCC), in Bonn, the third meeting of the Joint Committee was held within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea, and the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Joint Committee approved two projects in the fields of promoting renewable energy and off-grid systems in those rural areas of the country that do not have access to the national electricity grid:

  • Decentralized networks of off-grid systems based on Renewable Energy Sources and energy efficiency measures;
  • Bukavu Green Community as pioneers of an integral and sustainable development in Democratic Republic of Congo.
