Launch of the weather forecast and warning project

Ezulwini, October 31,2019 - in the presence of the Swazi Prime Minister, the Honorary Consul of Italy Mr. Russo, the local ministerial leaders and UNDP-Eswatini, the launch event of the project "Strengthen Swaziland early warning system and climate services" was held. This project provides for the strengthening of national weather forecast and warning system.

The main areas of intervention are: the extension of the observation network with the installation of meteorological and hydrometric stations, the provision and use of models for short, medium and long-term forecasts, and the creation of an alert system. The project will be managed by UNDP and will end in autumn 2021.
