ROME, NOVEMBER 16, 2023 - The first issue of the informative newsletter on the project "Systèmes décentralisés hors réseau basés sur les sources d'énergie renouvelables et les mesures d'efficacité énergétique", supported by MASE in the Democratic Republic of Congo, aims to promote access to electricity and drinking water in Gbadolité and Yakoma, (respectively capital of the province of North Ubangi and capital of the Yakoma territory of the province of North Ubangi), and in Ngemba, (in the territory of Madimba, province of Kongo Central).
In the newsletter it is possible to view photos of students, women, children and men involved in the project, the same aims to improve the living conditions of the population by facilitating access to electricity and drinking water.
Stories in the foreground, as represented by the photo of two girls carrying, on their heads, the water tanks necessary for daily activities, filled kilometers away. Or of Maman Nzunzi, a housewife from the village of N'Kamba whose main activities include tending the fields, preparing meals and managing household chores; access to electricity will allow women like her to also engage in other activities, attend evening courses, pursue income-generating initiatives and participate in recreational activities.
The project involves the purchase and installation of off-grid photovoltaic solar kits for the lighting of internal and external spaces, the construction of two wells equipped with solar-powered water pumping systems, the training the local community young people, and the creation of two women's cooperatives for the maintenance of the installed systems.
