Following the call to the private sector to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI’s) to build wind farms in Lebanon (2nd Round), the Ministry of Energy and Water received a total of 42 EOI’s. The proposals include companies from around 21 different countries, with Lebanese companies leading the way, followed by companies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), China, Denmark, France, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom (UK). The list of the 42 bidders including contact details is now made public (https://goo.gl/PfPFkR). LCEC encourages all potential investors to initiate the measurement campaigns on potential lands to avoid any delays in the future. During the next phase, a detailed Request for Proposals (RFP) document will be shared with the emails shown in the list of the 42 bidders. The RFP will include all the needed criteria, conditions, and specifications to be met by bidders. LCEC expects the RFP to be announced during the International Beirut Energy Forum 2018 to be held in Beirut from 26 to 28 September 2018. Stay tuned.
