COP27 Third meeting of the Joint Committee

The third meeting of the Joint Committee, between MASE and the Kenyan Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, was held on the occasion of COP 27.

The meeting, considered very positively by the parties, made it possible to deepen the cooperation prospects, in the environmental and energy transition fields, between the two countries.

The Kenyan delegation, led by the Deputy Director, Mr. Stephen Nzioka, presented, in particular, a project for the realization of the Integrated National Energy Plan and a project for the promotion of sustainable mobility through the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles.

After analyzing the two proposals, the Committee approved the initiative on electric mobility, which will be launched within the year, and undertook a thorough search of co-financiers for the implementation of the Integrated Plan.

The Committee has finally decided to start negotiations for the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding to replace the one currently in progress, expiring on January 2023.
