What is
As part of the partnership agreement between Italy and the United Kingdom for the Presidency of the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Italy is organizing an event entirely dedicated to young people titled: "Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition" (Y4C event). Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition offers young people from all over the world the opportunity to discuss and formulate concrete proposals on the issues of climate change.
Who are the participants
400 young participants, who are aged between 15 and 29 and have been identified in the respect of the geographical and gender balance. The selection rewarded activism on the issues of climate change and sustainable development. Based on responses to a six-question questionnaire, those who demonstrated strategic thinking, leadership and motivation skills have been selected.
Where and when
“Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition” will be held in Milan on 28-30 September 2021 at the MiCo Milano Convention Centre. Frequent updates on the works will be provided through our social networks and this web site.
Agenda
The first two days will be dedicated to working groups, while the third one will feature a discussion among young delegates and Ministers attending Pre-COP26. The proposals that will be put forward by the young participants will be made available to the subsequent international negotiations on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the debates in ECOSOC and UNFCCC.
