November 29, 2022, Amman – On November 29, a MASE delegation, accompanied by JREEEF staff, conducted a field visit to two of the 100 municipalities involved in the project “Installation of Solar PV Systems for Municipalities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan”. The visit took place in an area located in the north of the country, near the border with Syria.
In the municipalities of Manshiat Bani Hasan (80,000 inhabitants and 3,000 Syrian refugees) and Alnaseem (35,000 inhabitants and 5,000 Syrian refugees), local authorities, including mayors Mr. Muwafaq Shdaifal and Mr. Adl Al Gofoak Al Harhsheh, municipal councilors, and technical staff involved in the installation of photovoltaic systems, expressed great satisfaction with the results of the cooperation project. The mayors also emphasized that, in addition to the positive impact in terms of renewable energy production and CO2 emissions savings, the systems have enabled the administrations to make significant annual savings on energy bills, allowing resources to be allocated to citizen services.
In detail, in the Municipality of Manshiat Bani Hasan, 31 panels of 545 W/p were installed on two separate surfaces, with a total capacity of 40 kWac and a 15 kW inverter, resulting in an annual saving of approximately 7,200 JD (€9,600). In the Municipality of Alnaseem, 26 panels of 545 W/p were installed, with a capacity of 40 kWac and a 12 kW inverter, ensuring an annual saving of approximately 4,000 JD (€5,400).
