Uganda

Uganda is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. Its territory is predominantly flat in the North and mountainous in the Southwest. The capital, Kampala, located in the Southeast, is bordered by Lake Victoria, the largest in Africa. The equatorial climate is characterized by generally high temperatures and abundant rainfall, with alternating rainy and dry seasons that deeply affect agricultural activities.

The country boasts a rich natural heritage, including forests, lakes, rivers, and fertile soils. However, this is at risk due to overexploitation, deforestation, soil erosion, and water pollution in lakes and rivers, particularly severe in urban areas.

The Memorandum of Understanding in the field of sustainable development between MASE and Uganda’s Ministry of Water and Environment was signed on December 4, 2023, in Dubai, during COP28.
