The Ministry for the Environment and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Paraguay and the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea signed in Rome on November 7th, 2018 the Memorandum of Understanding (https://www.mase.gov.it/sites/default/files/archivio/allegati/sviluppo_sostenibile/MoU_Paraguay_eng_08112018.pdf) on "Cooperation in the field of climate change vulnerability, risk assessment, adaptation and mitigation".
The signatories were: Luis Alberto Castiglioni, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay and Francesco La Camera, Director General of the Directorate for Sustainable Development of the Italian Ministry for the Environment.
The Italian Ministry for the Environment will co-finance the activities approved under the Protocol with a maximum amount of 2 million euros.
The Protocol will promote the strengthening and coordination of efforts in order to combat climate change’s effects, by supporting the creation of systems for risk assessment, promoting clean and efficient energy, fostering economic and technological transformation towards low carbon systems.
