India, one of the most populated countries in the world, by ratifying the Paris Agreement has pledged to reduce carbon emissions by 33-35% within 2030, compared to the levels recorded in 2005. The goal is to meet 40% of the energy demand with alternative energy sources in place of the traditional ones. On October 30, 2017, in New Delhi, the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of the Republic of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (https://www.mase.gov.it/sites/default/files/archivio/allegati/sviluppo_sostenibile/MOU_India.pdf) for cooperation in the energy sector.
